
When he discovered these, he looked to Heidi and me and cried "The reindeers eated their carrots, Mum and Dad. And Santa drinked his milk." Maybe by next year he will have mastered the past tense of the English language, but it won't matter. It was delightful to listen to the wonder in his voice.
For the kids, Christmas started in early November. Much as I hate to admit it, Eaton's has the parade timed just about right: as soon as Halloween is over, Andrew and Colin began to think about Christmas, all day every day.
We didn't start to get serious until the beginning of December when we picked our tree, and brought it home to be decorated. You can see Andrew and Colin helping out in these pictures. For some reason, a disproportionate share of the ornaments were on the lower half of the tree this year, I can't understand why.
And at the end of the day, these two were still going strong at their Oma's house. Shortly after this picture was taken they collapsed out of sheer exhaustion, or else I did; I forget exactly.
