Back in April, Andrew turned 7. Having a birthday party for kids in April is difficult. Actually its always difficult, but April is especially problematic because you just can't count on the weather being good enough to do anything outside.
This year, we took a chance and invited all Andrew's friends to bring their bikes for a ride. It turned out perfectly. The sun was shining brilliantly as Heidi and I headed out for Coronation Park, 10 of us in single file with me at the front and Heidi at the back.
We came back for a backyard treasure hunt [as usual I grossly overestimated how long it would take] and the kids raced around looking for clues, completing the task in only a few minutes. They seemed to enjoy it anyway.
We came inside for cake and presents, which they also enjoyed.
