I have a packed itinerary for the next couple of days in Istanbul, but today was just to reset my bio-clock after the overnight flight from Toronto. So I did the tourist thing:
- Taksim Sq.: Check
- Yerebatan Sarnıcı / Basilica Cistern: Check
- Aya Sofya: Check
- Blue Mosque: Check
- Spice Market/Turkish coffee and Turkish Delight: Check
- Sülimaniye Mosque: Check
- Turkish rug sales pitch: Check
- SALT Galata: Check
- Dinner looking over the Bosphorus: Check
All in all, a good day I’d say.

Istanbul is one place I really would have loved to visit. That is one historic part of the world.
Lawrence of Arabia is one of my favourite movies but I don’t think he got on too well with the Turks.
