Beryl Amy Brannan
Beryl Amy Brannan died peacefully at home on 13 November 2022, with her beloved husband William (Bill) Brannan by her side. She was 83 years old.
Amy was born on 19 November 1938 in Gourock, Scotland to Margaret and Percy Clark. At the age of 19, she married Bill Brannan in Alexandria, Scotland and for nearly 65 years they were seldom apart.
In 1966, Amy and Bill emigrated and made a new home for their young family in Canada. At first, Amy stayed home to raise their two sons, Stuart and Craig, but later entered the workforce with several iconic Canadian companies, including Canadian Tire and Bell Canada.
Amy was a tireless redecorator and garden designer, providing a wealth of ideas for Bill to implement as they moved to new homes in Guelph, Etobicoke and finally Oakville.
Although Amy was a proud Canadian, her heart always remained in the lochs and glens of Scotland.
Amy is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Maisie Shovelin. She is survived by her dear husband, Bill, sons Stuart (Heidi Van Willegen) and Craig (Cindy Price), grandsons Andrew and Colin, and her niece Carol Barrie.
In accordance with Amy’s wishes, a private service will be arranged.
