Last night’s show at the Monument National in Montreal was absolutely beautiful, uplifting, intimate, shimmering, and just plain cool.
Later in the evening I went to see Andy Stott and a guy called Deadbeat twisting knobs on a table that, if you were so inclined, you could kinda sorta dance to. I enjoy the recordings both these guys put out last year (“Luxury Problems”, and “Eight”, respectively). But, besides turning up the volume (big time) seeing them live didn’t do much for me.
