
Daniel Van Willegen passed peacefully at his home in Toronto on Saturday, 19 December 2020. He was 58 years old.
Dan was born on 5 December 1962, in Toronto, ON, to Willem and Edith (Mindow) Van Willegen. He received his diploma in business management from George Brown College in 1982 and his B.A. from the University of Waterloo in 1998.
Dan ran his own company, Management Professionals Realty Limited, specializing in all areas of property management. He was a real estate course instructor for several Ontario colleges and professional organizations. For 20 years, he also worked as Director of Property Services for LOFT Community Services in Toronto.
Dan was happiest when working or relaxing at his Haliburton cottage, or riding with the BMW motorcycle club across the continent. He loved classical music and traveling in Europe. He had a great fondness for reading, particularly history books.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Willem (Bill), and is survived by his mother Edith, sister Heidi, brother-in-law Stuart, nephews Andrew and Colin and partner, Laurie.
A private funeral service will be held on Monday, 28 December 2020. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
